Ingredients
Chickpeas/peas – 1 Cup
Onion – Half
Potato – 1
Carrot – 1
Tomato – Half
Ginger – Half inch
Garlic – 3
Coriander Seeds – Half TbSp
Jeera – Half TbSp
Cinnamon – Half inch
Cloves – 2
Pepper – 5
Red Chilli – 6
Chat Masala Powder – ¼ TbSp
Pav Bhaji Masala Powder – Half TbSp
Jaggery – One and half TbSp
Salt to taste
Chat Puri – 15
To Garnish
Onion – Half finely Chopped
Tomato – Half finely Chopped
Coriander Leaves – Half Cup finely Chopped
Aloo Bhujia
Method
Masala Preparation:
- Soak Chickpeas in water overnight and drain it in the morning.
- Add Chickpeas, potato, carrot and salt to a Pressure Cooker and cook until Chickpeas/peas become soft.
- Once it Cools down takeout Potato, Carrot and 1/4th cup of Chickpeas/Peas and blend it to a fine paste.
- Dry fry: Add Coriander seeds, Jeera, cinnamon, cloves, pepper and Red Chilli to a pan fry about 2 minutes in medium flame.
- Heat oil in a pan add ginger, garlic, Onion, tomato fry about 3 minutes and once this mixture cools down blend it to a fine paste along with dry fry ingredients.
- Add both the pastes and leftover water with chickpeas/Peas to a pan. Add more water if required and let it boil for 3 minutes.(Masala should be of pouring Consistency)
- Add Pav Bhaji masala, Chat masala and salt. Let it boil for 8 to 10 minutes. Add salt if needed.
How to Serve
- On to a plate Crush 5 to 6 Chat puris.
- Pour prepared masala on top of puri. ( According to your taste add more or less masala)
- Garnish with Onion, Tomato, Aloo bhujia and coriander leaves.
Tasty hot Masala Puri Chat is ready to Serve.
