Preparation time: 20 Minutes | Cook time: 20 minutes

Ingredients

Rice – ¾ Cup

Split Moong dal – ½ Cup

Water – 3 and ½ Cup

Turmeric Powder – ¼ tbsp

Potato – 1

Green Chilli – 5

Curry Leaves – 10

Cabbage – 1 Cup

Tomato – 1

Coriander Leaves – ½ Cup

Jeera – 1 tbsp

Oil – 6 tbsp

Salt to Taste

Method

  • Wash rice and split moong dal together twice and add it to a pressure cooker. Add Water, Turmeric Powder, 1 tbsp of salt and Pressure cook for about 3 Whistles. Keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add Jeera wait until it Crackle.
  • Add Chopped Potato, Green Chilli, Curry Leaves Cook until potato become 80% soft.
  • Add Cabbage cook about 2 minutes then add tomato, Coriander leaves. Cook until tomato become soft. Add Salt and cook about a minute.
  • Now Add cooked rice and split moong dal. Mix well. Add salt if needed.

Tasty Kichdi is Ready to Serve.
