Shavige Upma ( Vermicelli Upma )


Preparation time: 10 Minutes | Cook time: 20 Minutes


Shavige Upma ( Vermicelli Upma ) – 2 Cup

Water – 1 and ½ Cup

Onion – 1

Green Chilli – 4

Curry Leaves – 5

Coriander Leaves – ½ Cup

Oil – 7 tbsp

Mustard Seeds – 1 tbsp

Chana Dal – 1 tbsp

Salt to Taste


  • Heat Oil in a pan. Add Mustard Seeds wait until it Crackle then add Chana dal fry till its light brown.
  • Add Chopped Green Chillis, Curry Leaves, Onion cook about 2 Minutes.
  • Add water and salt. Close the lid and let it boil for 2 minutes.
  • Open the lid. Add Shavige to the boiling water. Mix well close the lid. Cook until Shavige becomes Soft by absorbing water Completely.
  • Add Coriander Leaves and mix well.

Hot Shavige Upma is Ready to Serve.
