Ingredients
Chickpea (kabuli chana) – 2 cups
Onion – 1
Tomato – 1
Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
Coriander powder – 1 tbsp
Garam masala powder – ½ tbsp
Turmeric powder – ¼ tbsp
Amchur powder – ¼ tbsp. or Lemon juice – ½ tbsp
Oil – 3 tbsp
Jeera – 1 tbsp
Water – 1 cup
Salt to taste
Method
- Soak chickpeas in water overnight or at least for 4 hours. Drain it and keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add jeera wait until it crackles.
- Add onion fry until it turns light brown. Then add tomato fry about 2 minutes.
- Add turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder, amchur powder, salt and cook about 1 minute.
- Add chickpeas, water mix well and pressure cook for 8 whistles. Take out to a serving bowl.
Hot Chole is ready to serve with Bhature
