Vegetable Sagu


Preparation time: 10 Minutes | Cook time: 30 Minutes


Onion – ½ Finely chopped

Tomato – 1

Potato – 1

Carrot – 1

Cabbage – 1 cup

Brinjal – 1

Palak (Spinach) – 1 cup

Grated coconut – 2 tbsp

Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp

Coriander powder – 1 tbsp

Turmeric powder – pinch

Water – ¼ cup

Oil – 3 tbsp

Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp

Salt to taste


  • Heat oil in a pressure cooker. Add mustard seeds wait until it crackles.
  • Add finely chopped onions fry until it turns light brown. Then add Palak saute for 3 seconds.
  • Add chopped potato, carrot, brinjal and cook about 1 minute. Then add finely chopped cabbage saute for 2 seconds.
  • Add finely chopped tomato, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, coriander powder, grated coconut and salt cook about 1 minute. Close the lid and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  • Take out to a serving bowl.

Hot Vegetable Sagu is ready to serve with Chapati or Dosa.
