Ingredients
Gobi florets – 2 cups
Maida (All purpose flour) – 4 tbsp
Corn flour – 3 tbsp
Black pepper powder – 2 tbsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
Garlic – 2
Green chilli – 1
Onion – ½ Finely chopped
Capsicum – ½ Finely chopped
Lemon juice – 1 tbsp
Soya sauce – 1 tbsp
Tomato sauce – 2 tbsp
Water – 1 cup
Oil for frying
Salt to taste
Method
- Add maida, 2tbsp of corn flour, 1 tbsp of black pepper powder, red chilli powder and salt to a bowl mix well. With enough water make a medium consistency batter.
- Keep water for boiling by adding ½ tbsp. of salt. Add gobi florets to it. Let it boil for about 2 minutes. Drain gobi.
- Add gobi florets to the batter. Mix well. Keep it aside for 5 minutes.
- Heat Oil in a Pan. Check if its hot enough by adding a drop of batter to it. If it Raises to the Surface immediately then oil temperature is Perfect for frying.
- Fry gobi in hot oil until it turns light brown. Takeout on to a Kitchen paper towel. Let it cool down completely.
- To get crispy gobi. Fry it again in the oil until its crispy. Takeout on to a plate.
Manchurian Sauce preparation
- Heat oil in a pan. Add chopped garlic, onion, capsicum and green chilli. Fry about 1 minute.
- Add soya sauce, tomato sauce, Red chilli powder, 1 tbsp of black pepper powder and lemon juice. Cook about 1 minute.
- Take 1 tbsp of corn flour in a bowl. Add little water and mix well. Add it to the pan. This acts as a thickening agent.
- Check the consistency. If it is too thick add little water and saute for about 5 seconds.
- Add gobi florets. Mix well with the sauce.
- Takeout on to a serving plate. Serve hot.
