Akki roti


Preparation time: 30 Minutes | Cook time: 15 Minutes


Rice flour – 2 cup

Mashed rice – ½ cup

Onion – 1 Finely chopped

Green chilli – 3 Finely chopped

Grated carrot – ¼ cup

Coriander leaves – ½ cup

Dill (Sabsige soppu) – ½ cup

Oil – 2 tbsp

Hot Water – 1 cup

Parchment paper

Salt to taste


  • Add Rice flour, onion, green chilli, grated carrot, mashed rice, coriander leaves, dill, and salt to a bowl. Mix well. By adding enough hot water make a soft dough. Let it rests for about 15 minutes.
  • Grease oil on a parchment paper. Place a small portion of dough on it and start patting with your fingers. Make a round medium thickness roti.
  • Heat a tawa and grease it with oil. Flip akki roti on it keeping parchment paper on top. Carefully separate it from roti.
  • Add some oil or ghee to both the sides of roti. Cook until u get brown spots. Takeout on to a plate.

Hot Akki roti is ready to serve with chutney or pickle.
