Ingredients
Split moong dal – 1 small glass
Turmeric powder – pinch
Water – 2 glass
Oil – ½ tbsp
Coriander leaves – ¼ cup
Salt to taste
For Tempering
Oil – 1 tbsp
Ghee – ½ tbsp
Mustard seeds – ½ tbsp.
Hing – pinch
Curry leaves – 8
Tomato – 1
Onion – 1
Green chilli – 1
Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
Cinnamon powder – pinch
Clove powder – pinch
Method
- Wash Split moong dal twice and add it to a pressure cooker. Add 2 glass of water, turmeric powder, oil and cook for 2 whistles.
- Once dal is cooked mash it completely and keep it aside.
- Heat oil and ghee together in a pan. Add mustard seeds wait until it crackle then add curry leaves and hing. Saute for a second.
- Add Finely chopped green chilli, onion. Fry until onion turns light brown.
- Add finely chopped tomato, Coriander leaves, red chilli powder, cinnamon powder, clove powder and salt. Mix well. Cook until tomato becomes soft.
- Add mashed dal and mix well. Cook for about 5 minutes. Add salt if needed. Takeout to a serving bowl.
Hot Split moong dal is ready to serve with Chapati or Rice.
