Drumstick Fry (Nuggekai Fry)


Preparation time: 20 Minutes | Cook time: 15 Minutes


Drumstick – 1 cup chopped

Tomato – 1

Onion – 1

Potato – 1

Groundnuts/Peanuts – 2 tbsp

Turmeric powder – Pinch

Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp

Coriander powder – 1 tbsp

Coriander leaves – ¼ cup

Water – 2 glass

Oil – 3 tbsp

Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp

Salt to taste


  • Boil 2 glass of water and add drumsticks, chopped potato and little salt. Cook until veggies become soft. Drain water and keep veggies aside.
  • Dry roast peanuts for about 2 minutes. Once it cools down peel off peanut skin and blend it. Keep it aside.
  • Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds wait until it crackle.
  • Add chopped onion and wait until it turns light brown.
  • Add chopped tomato, chilli powder, coriander powder and salt. Cook until it becomes soft.
  • Add cooked drumstick, potato and coriander leaves. Mix well. Cook about 1 minute.
  • In the last add blended peanut powder and mix well. Saute for a second and takeout on to a serving plate.

Tasty Drumstick fry is ready to serve.
