Rice kheer


Preparation time: 30 Minutes | Cook time: 1 Hour


Whole milk – 2 Liters

Basmati rice – ¼ cup

Sugar – 2 cups

Chopped cashews – 1 tbsp

Chopped raisins – 1 tbsp

Chopped almonds – 1 tbsp


  • Soak rice in enough water for about 30 minutes.
  • Boil milk in a thick-bottomed vessel. Once milk start boiling. Reduce the flame.
  • Drain rice and add it to the milk. Stir occasionally.
  • Once rice is cooked (Cooking rice in milk will take more than 30 minutes) add sugar and continue to cook until you get thick consistency of milk. Add dry fruits. Mix well.
  • Takeout to a serving bowl. Garnish with almonds.


Tasty Rice kheer is ready to serve.

Note: Prepared Rice kheer can be stored in Refrigerator for about 2 days.
