Ingredients
Potato – 3
Carrot – 1 cup Finely chopped
Beans – 1 cup finely chopped
Peas – ½ cup
Tomato – 6 Finely chopped
Gingergarlic paste – 1 tbsp
Onion – 1 Finely chopped
Capsicum – 1 Finely chopped
Butter – 5 tbsp
Pav bhaji masala powder – 3 tbsp
Red chilli powder – 1 tbsp
Water as required
Salt to taste
Ingredients to Serve Pav bhaji
Pav/bun – 6
Onion – 1 finely chopped
Lemon – 1 chopped in wedges
Coriander leaves – ½ cup
Butter as required
Method to prepare Bhaji
- Boil peeled potatoes, carrot, beans and peas in a Pressure Cooker or Microwave until its soft.
- Drain and mash veggies Completely. Keep it aside. Let it cool down.
- Heat butter in a pan. Add onion, capsicum and gingergarlic paste saute for a minute.
- Add tomatoes, pav bhaji powder, chilli powder and salt. Cook until tomatoes are soft. Add water if required.
- Now add boiled and mashed veggies with coriander leaves. Mix well. Cook for about 2 minutes. Switch off the the flame.
Bhaji is ready to serve with pav/bun
Method to fry pav/bun
- Heat tawa or shallow pan on medium flame.
- Add 1 tbsp of butter and a spoon of bhaji. Cut pav/bun into halves and place it over tawa so that it absorbs butter and bhaji. Flip it over and fry for a second. Take it out on to a plate.
How to serve
- Place bhaji on to a serving plate. Add a tbsp of butter to it.
- Place finely chopped onion, coriander leaves and lemon to a side of plate.
- Place fried pav to another side of plate.
Pav bhaji is ready to serve.
