Preparation time: 5 Minutes | Cook time: 10 Minutes
Ingredients
Gram flour – 1 cup
Water – 1 and 1/2 cup
Onion – 1 finely chopped
Green chilli – 3 finely chopped
Tamarind water – 1Tbsp
Jaggery powder – 1/2 Tbsp
Oil – 3 Tbsp
Mustard seeds – 1 tbsp
Jeera – 1 tbsp
salt to taste
To garnish
Grated dry or fresh coconut – 1/4 cup
Dry fried peanuts – 1/4 cup
Coriander leaves – 1/4 cup
Method
- To a bowl add gram flour, salt and water. Mix well to make medium consistency batter. Keep it aside.
- Heat oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds, jeera and wait until it crackle.
- Add onion and fry until it turns light brown.
- Add tamarind water and jaggery powder. Mix well. Saute for a minute.
- Now add prepared batter and keep on stirring on medium flame until it leave the sides of pan. Switch off the flame.
- Tansfer prepared jhunka to a oil greased plate. Garnish it with grated coconut, peanuts and coriander leaves.
- Once it cools down completely cut into cubes and Place it on a serving plate.
Tasty Jhunka vadi is ready to serve.
